The Towers has experienced a varied history of patients and visitors. Some 38 ex-servicemen were among the hospital population of 944 in the late 1920’s. In the 1940’s the number of patients had risen to over 1,200. The Towers was used as an emergency hospital by offering its facilities and during the second world war.
